Policies

Children

  • While we love children, Joseph's Salon on the Square is an adult-oriented facility. In an effort to maintain a relaxing atmosphere, infants and children under thirteen (13) years of age are not allowed in the salon or lobby except during the duration of the child's service. Children also cannot wait in the salon or lobby while a parent or sibling is receiving a service. This policy enables all salon guests to fully relax and enjoy their stay with us. Please make child care arrangements prior to your scheduled appointment. Management and your fellow patrons ask that you please respect this policy as no exceptions can be made. Thank you for your cooperation.

Cell Phones

  • For the comfort and enjoyment of all our guests we request that you turn cell phones and pagers to "vibrate" and limit their use inside the salon. Management and your fellow patrons thank you for your cooperation.

Scheduling

  • Please feel free to call us or stop by to schedule your appointment - one of our front desk coordinators will be happy to assist you. If you call during non-business hours, please leave a message with your appointment request and daytime and evening phone numbers. We will call you back as soon as possible.
  • Since our technicians often book up weeks in advance, we always recommend that you schedule your next appointment prior to leaving. This will ensure that you have an appointment that works best with your schedule. Standing appointments are also available and encouraged to ensure that your preferred day and time will always be reserved for you.
  • We make appointment reminder calls 48-72 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Please be sure to keep us up-to-date with all of your contact information. While we make every attempt to reach you by phone, if for any reason we are unsuccessful in contacting you personally, please feel free to call us to confirm your appointment.
  • While we do our best to run on time, unfortunately situations may occur from time to time that put us behind schedule. We will do our best to keep you from waiting.

Cancellations / No Shows

  • A 24 hour notice is required if you must cancel or reschedule your appointment.
    (Groups and wedding parties are required to give at least a one week notice.)
  • Remember, your services are reserved especially for you, therefore a 50% credit card deposit/guarantee is required on all groups, wedding parties, specialty and/or lengthy services. This guarantee is NON-REFUNDABLE if the required cancellation notice is not given. If payment was to be by Gift Certificate, an amount equal to 50% of the scheduled services will be applied against the Gift Certificate balance.
  • In addition, a deposit/guarantee may be required on appointments scheduled during times of high demand such as New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day, Christmas, etc.
  • Please keep in mind that our policies are created to allow for effective scheduling and to ensure that all clients wishing to receive services may be accommodated. Please be considerate of other clients who may be able to utilize your appointment time.

Payment / Returns

  • We accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
  • While your credit card and personal check is welcome, please note that we CANNOT accept third party checks or credit cards without prior written authorization. The person signing the check or credit card receipt MUST do so in our presence and present valid I.D., or have previously completed an authorization form.
  • In the event that a check is returned to us by your bank, you will be required to pay the balance in full, along with a $25 returned check fee. We will attempt to contact you, however it is ultimately your responsibility to contact us. If the matter is not resolved in a timely manner it will be turned over to the States Attorney for collection.
  • For those wishing to show appreciation for a job well done, gratuity envelopes are available at the front desk when you check out.
  • Gratuities cannot be added to credit card charges, checks, or gift certificate purchases. Any gratuities you would like to leave must be in the form of cash or check (made payable directly to your technician).
  • If you are using a gift certificate as your form of payment, please present it to the receptionist upon check-in, and prior to receiving your service.
  • Retail product returns must be within 30 days of purchase and are for product exchange only. Product returns cannot be credited to services received.
  • Product and service prices are subject to change without notice.

Satisfaction Guarantee

  • If your service does not meet your expectations for any reason, return within 14 days. While we cannot give cash refunds, we will perform any service necessary to resolve the problem to your satisfaction at no cost to you.
  • Please note, however, that chemical services will be guaranteed ONLY when products recommended by salon technicians and purchased at our salon are used for the care of your hair.

Valuables

  • Joseph's Salon on the Square is not responsible for any lost property. Please do not bring jewelry or other valuables to your appointment.

Late Arrivals

  • If you foresee that you may be late for your scheduled appointment, please call us. While your technician will make every effort to accommodate you, please be advised that we may be unable to extend a late arrival's scheduled service so as not to inconvenience our other patrons. Therefore, part or all of your scheduled service may have to be scheduled with another technician, shortened, or rescheduled.

Gift Certificates

  • Gift Certificates are available for any dollar amount, service, or package. They may be purchased in person, by telephone, or online. Gift Certificates may be mailed to any address specified by the purchaser.
  • Gift Certificate purchases via telephone require a faxed credit card authorization form to be completed.
  • Due to the many variations of Custom Gift Certificates, they must be purchased in person or by telephone. They cannot be purchased on-line.
  • Gift Certificates expire one (1) year from date of purchase and are non-refundable and non-redeemable for cash. Expiration dates cannot be extended.
  • If you are using a gift certificate as your form of payment, please present it to the receptionist upon check-in and prior to receiving your service.
